Tour
of the Old City from where the Byzantian ( East Roman ) and Ottoman Empires were
ruled.
St.Sophia,
one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the
6th
century by Emperor Justinian. Blue Mosque, facing St. Sophia, famous with its
blue Iznik tiles
and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. Hippodrome, center of
sportive
(chariot races, athletics) events and political activities of the old city. Obelisk of
Theodosius,
Serpentine Column
and German Fountain of Wilhelm II are the monuments decorating
Hippodrome. Topkapi Palace, imperial residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting imperial
treasury, Chinese
porcelain, weapons, calligraphy section etc., Grand Covered Bazaar, most
attractive shopping
center and the biggest souk in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling
antiques, jewellery, gold,

3 : Istanbul / Full day Bosphorus & 2 Continents
Tour
Full Day city tour of Bosphorus. Unique change to get to know European and Asian
parts of
Istanbul. (B,L)

Tour
starts with a visit to Spice Bazaar Bazaar ),
Mystical smells of
different aromas of various spices.
Shops selling
fruits, vegetables,
flowers, etc., Then we
will take the ferry for
Bosphorus Cruise. Bosphorus
Cruise, through the
water way separating
the two
continents, Asia and
Europe, with a possibility to take
photographs of
marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of
Ottoman
architecture besides modern
residential and
luxurious
apartments. After lunch,
visit of Rumeli
Fortress,
historical armament built
by Sultan Mehmet to
control and protect
Bosphorus. |
Then we will visit Dolmabahce Palace, the last residence for Ottoman
Sultans with 365 rooms
and 22 saloons.
Famous with the great collection of European antiquity, furniture and 4,5 tons
chandelier. Then we will drive through Bosphorus Bridge, unique chance to step from one
continent (Asia)
to another (Europe) in 2 minutes. Then we will reach Camlica Hill , The highest
point of Asian part of Istanbul, exposing a panoramic view of Istanbul and Bosphorus from
the best point of view.
Day
4 : Istanbul / Cappadocia
Transfer to airport for flight to
Kayseri.
Driving
to Cappadocia ( Urgup ). Half day trekking,
overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)
Urgup,
a lively tourist center at the foot of a rock ridge riddled with
old dwellings, serves as an excellent base from which to tour the
sights of Cappadocia. In
Urgup, itself you can still see how people
once lived in homes cut into the
rock. At the center of a successful
wine-producing region, Urgup hosts an annual
International Wine
Festival in October.
Day 5 :
Cappadocia
Trekking from Damsa Lake to Mustafa Pasha, overnight at the hotel ( B,L,D
)
Mustafa Pasha ( Sinassos ), is the typical village of where traditional
stone houses with carved
and decorated facades evoke a former age.
Day
6 : Cappadocia
Trekking from Mustafa Pasha to Uchisar via Ortahisar and Ibrahim Pasha,
overnight at the
hotel ( B,L,D )
Uchisar,
is one of the most beautiful valleys in Cappadocia Area. Rock
formations rise up before you at every turn and entice you to stop and
wonder at their creation. For those who climb the steps to the top of the
Uchisar Fortress
the whole region unfolds below.
Day 7 :
Cappadocia
Trekking from Uchisar to Cavusin via Goreme
Valley, overnight at the
hotel ( B,L,D )
The Goreme Open – Air Museum, a monastic complex of rock
churches and
chapels covered with frescoes, is one of the best-known
sites in central Turkey. Most of the chapels date from the 10th to the
13th centuries ( the Byzantine and Seljuk periods ) and many of them are built
on an inscribed
cross-plan with a central cupola supported by four columns. The town
of Goreme is set right
in the middle of a valley of cones and fairy
chimneys. Some of the cafes, restaurants and guest
houses are carved into the
rock. For shoppers, rugs, carpets and kilims are plentiful.
Day 8 :
Cappadocia
Trekking from Cavusin to Urgup via Pashabag, Zelve,overnight at the hotel.(B,L,D)
At Cavusin, on the road leading north out of Goreme, you will find a
triple-apse church and the
monastery of St. John the Baptist. In the town, chapels and churches and some of the rock
houses are still inhabited. From Cavusin to Zelve, fairy chimneys line the road. Unfortunately, it is
dangerous to visit the churches in the Zelve valley because erosion has determined the floors.
Day 9 : CAPPADOCIA /
ISTANBUL
Visiting Derinkuyu Underground city and then trekking in Ihlara Valley,
transfer to Kayseri
Airport. Flight to Istanbul. Overnight at the hotel in Istanbul. ( B,L,D )
The underground city of Derinkuyu was used by Christians of the seventh
century, who were
fleeing from persecution. They sheltered from the iconoclastic strife of Byzantium as well as
other
invasions in that safe and well-hidden complexes. Also other underground cities in Cappadocia
were a
complete and self-sufficient environment, including rooms for grain storage, stables,
sleeping chambers,
kitchens and air shafts. Today they are well-lit, and an essential and
fascinating part of every Cappadocian
tour.
Drive to Ankara and flight to
Istanbul. Transfer to hotel and overnight ( B,L,D )
Day 10 : ISTANBUL /
DEPARTURE
Free time until transfer to Istanbul international airport. ( B )
