What is The Blue Voyage ?
Cruising the Aegean Coast began as a fad among Turkish
intellectuals and a few of their foreign friends in the late 60's.
This form of holiday making, dubbed the "Blue Voyage", was
then more an intellectual pursuit than a more vacation. It was
indeed, a cult.
The Blue Voyage is an adventure that takes you to magic of
myths three millennia old. You walk on the prints of Aphrodite's
nimble feet, visiting a ruin, listening to the breeze playing pan's
flute while dozing in a pine-shaded cove.
To the sensitive, the uniqueness of the sensations evoked by
the experience of any particular moment is revealed once more
in the memories. The Blue Voyage is no passing affair.
No Voyage is a dejà vu, each time, of visited cove whispers a
new secret, lays bare a new allure.
What is Gulet ?
The Gulets described previously as yachts which evolved from traditional wooden craft are typical to
Turkey. The Number of passengers a gulet carries varies, according to size, between 8 and 18, most
of them accommodate 8 to 16 people.

On a 17 to 25 meters boat, that is quite a breathing space for each person considering that every
passenger has private quarters and jointly used decks, saloons etc. are quite spacious. This combines
the relative privacy expected of a yacht with the feeling of security a bigger vessel affords There are
double berths in each cabin has its own WC and shower. The crew sleep and use the facilities in their
separate quarters.

The crew consist of a captain, a cook and one or two deckhands who are experienced in their work.
The durations of the daily cruises are aimed to be as short as possible letting the passenger have
enough free time to spend as they wish. That is why, as a rule, longer distances are cruised, but your
captain is ready to set the sails whenever a suitable wind blows.
Life on Board
The modern gulets offer the perfect atmosphere for a lazy holiday in which you are expected to do
nothing that you do not wish to do. Days are spent swimming, reading, eating, drinking, sunning playing
cards, windsurfing and generally relaxing. Everyday the scenery keeps changing from bay to bay.

Anchoring in a cove and trekking in the wild nature, visiting a nearby village and coming closer to the
native people and their traditions or visiting one of the numerous ancient sites, which are accessible
from nearly every cove. Here, in the midst of the idyll, you can feel the touch of nature and history and
you consider your existence from a completely new point of view.
